Book WorkshopCarl Gustav Jung was a founding father of depth psychology and a maverick scientist, seeker and visionary who re-framed therapy as a form of spiritual growth and who can be credited for putting the soul back into psychology. His extensive studies of ancient wisdom traditions and mythologies, alongside his scientific research into dreams led him to develop the pioneering concepts of the collective unconscious, the archetypes, individuation and more. In this talk we’ll look at who Carl Jung was and why his ideas are as radical now as they were in his own lifetime. We’ll explore how Jung synthesised Eastern wisdom with Western psychology to develop what can be understood as a form of ‘sacred science’ which situates us inside a larger reality that transcends space and time. We’ll also consider the instrumental role of imagination and dreams and the way they can be viewed as powerful, transformative tools to access the unknown and facilitate creativity in support of both individual and collective growth. The talk will be followed by an opportunity to ask questions.
